First Time on the Farm - Blog 2
When I think back to my first time at the farm where I grow flowers, it makes me laugh. Wondering about the future always seems so uncertain, but then I glance back at the past and can smile at how things have worked out. Here is the story of the first time I stepped foot on the property where my flower field resides: My cousin called and said she was going to hang out with some new friends she had met since starting college and wanted me to tag along. The place was just a few miles from my parents house and we were going mattress surfing in a hay pasture. We showed up to a bunch of guys with a mattress tied to the back of a 4 wheeler and spent hours riding around and taking turns getting thrown off. Little did I know, that was a very big day in my life.
That was the day I met who would become my husband and in a few short years I would call that place home. It is the place I grew my first garden and I am now raising my family here with a fresh-cut flower business. It’s just kind of funny to look back and see where it all started. I had no idea at seventeen years old how pivotal that day was.
